CCR, a small specialty coffee roastery nestled in Coupeville, is the brainchild of Chad Rickner, the owner and operator. Chad’s journey into the world of coffee began as a former teacher at Coupeville schools and various international schools across Europe and Asia. It was later in life that he discovered his passion for specialty coffee.

The roastery, situated just outside of town on West Beach Rd., is Chad’s purpose-built space where he roasts the coffee beans. These beans are imported from a renowned company called Genuine Origin, which not only sources exceptional coffee but also actively collaborates with coffee farmers to promote sustainable farming practices through education and hands-on support.

Chad’s commitment to continuous improvement is evident in his dedication to professional development. He regularly attends classes to expand his knowledge and skills in the coffee industry. Notably, he holds a foundation certification in Roasting, Green Coffee, and Sensory Skills from the Specialty Coffee Association and is a proud member of the Coffee Roasters Guild.

-Each roasted batch is roasted, de-stoned, sorted for defects, cupped (sampled), bagged, and then sold by Chad. Quality control is always priority!
